Is the Panasonic S97 the best $300 player available? (1 Viewer)

Greetings,

I'm looking to purchase a new single-disc DVD player. I've owned Panasonic players in the past are had no complaints about them so their newest S97 looks really great. On paper it's specs look almost unmatched in the $300 category. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a lot of publication about this player on these forums or otherwise. Can anyone recommend any other player with better performance/features at the same price point? Thanks in advance.

Toshiba has a new dvd on the market 5970(?), Secret of High Fidelity recently did their periodic testing of DVD players. see the below link for their results on the Panasonic S97, and other players.
