I saw one of these on ecost.com for $170. I currently have a Pioneer 578a, and i am trying to get the best sound performance in my limited budget(as well as SACD). Is the Onkyo 802 a substantially better player, or just a 6 disc version of the 502? Also does any recommendations of other SACD players? i am just getting into hi-rez audio, sorry about all the questions.

Thanks in advance
Colin

Colin,

I had a Pioneer 578a and returned it to buy a Yamaha DVD C750 which has substantially better sound (IMHO of course).

Audioholics also gave it a good review and mentioned it sounded better than the Pioneer 578a.

The street price is around US$240.

thanks howard,

That was my initial choice as a replacement, I guess things are pointing back towards the Yamaha. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a better universal out there that I wouldn't have to sell a kidney to purchase:D Anyone else with recommendations???

I'm looking for sound performance over picture(no digital tv).
