I have a Denon 1800 with 4 8ohm speakers. What I want to do is put on a 6ohm speaker. Is this ok to do? Can you have two different impedence speakers running at the same time? I tried it out and it seems to be ok, but I'm using the lower impedence speaker as my center channel and I am noticing that dialog is hardly audible. Does this have anything to do with impedence? I have already matched levels using VE and an SPL meter. Just curious. Thanks

As long as the receiver can handle a 6ohm load, most can go down to 4, its not going to hurt anything. With the levels matched you shouldnt be able to tell the difference unless you are a very picky listener.
