I'm going to be ordering the JBL NSP-1 speaker set very soon and I'm thinking about getting the PB-10 sub to go with it. I can get it for $199 shipped. I was wondering if this is my best choice in this price range. I really haven't had the opportunity to listen to anything else. The only other sub I've seen mentioned in this price range is the 12" Sony (WDM-40 I think) but from what I've read it sounds like the JBL is a better sub. Any comments? Thanks.

Thomas is right, the Sony(SA-WM40) is a good sub for the money........but the PB-10 is more powerful and is louder and deeper than the Sony!!

For $199 I would definitely go with the JBL, better build quality(no plastic), crossover bypass for LFE, 5 way binding posts, 150 watts RMS!, much better than the SA-WM40 IMO!
