For those of you who have it, appreciate your comments. TIA.
Very nice receiver. However, it ran out of juice, trying to power my Wharfedale Diamond 8.3's. The speakers are inefficient (86db), so you might have better luck than me, depending on your speakers.
6 months with it and no complaints. It helps if you have a 5 channel amp (carver av505). Nice for the money and if you don't want to pay 1000+ for the newer models. The only down is that osd works in composite (not component connection), so you'll have to be switching connections to view the avr menu.
is the Carver a digital amp? if not, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of having an all digital amp? i.e if you were going down that route you might choose a different (cheaper?) pre-pro or something... just curious. btw Gerard, there seems to be quite a few prior disucssions on this receiver. do a search. Course i haven't heard any of these amps, but the general impression i get is that the replacements (1005 and 2005) are much better
