I just finished watching the anime film "Metropolis" on DVD.

I thought it was a great movie, and the DTS track was amazing.

Much better than either the english or japenese DD 5.1

And to the fact i do not use Dynamic Range compression!.

And it sounds like full bitrate DTS track were anything is audible even at low volume.

Is it full bitrate?

But if it isn´t it definetly is the best DTS track i have ever heard on DVD.

Don't think so. I got the impression that all DTS tracks nowadays are half-rate. But I'm not 100% certain however... :)

Anyways, it sounds awesome!.

It´s the best half-bitrate DTS track i have heard on DVD.

Up there with The Fast and the Furious, The Haunting and Saving Private Ryan.

I bought the recent DVD of Petit Poucet from France, which dvdfr.com reviewed as having full bitrate ("plein débit") DTS:

"DTS plein débit! Et franchement, à côté, la piste Dolby Digital fait bien pâle figure. En DTS, tout n'est que finesse, richesse et largeur de restitution. Des effets mesurés, une musique mixée à merveille et des basses juste ce qu'il faut là où il faut. Une merveille!"

My player does not display the bitrate of DTS soundtracks so I cannot confirm this, but it sounds excellent to me.

(Warning to potential purchasers - The DVD has no English subtitles, although anyone with a basic knowledge of French and the original fairytale shouldn't have too many problems following the story)

Most are half-rate, but a handful have, in fact, been released in full bitrate DTS. Some of the recent full bit rate DTS releases, include:

Tonight: Avergage White Band In Concert

Juice Newton: Every Road Leads Back To You

Fosse

Godsmack Live

Electric Light Orchestra: Zoom Tour Live

Elton John: One Night Only

Psychedelic Furs: Live From House Of Blues

Queen: We Will Rock You

George Benson: Absolutely Live

Super Speedway: The Mach II Special Edition

Planet Earth: Australia

Adventures In Wild California

As you can tell, most of these full bitrate releases are music and special interest titles. The last movie I can recall that included a full-rate DTS track was "The Thin Red Line," released nearly a year and a half ago.

Adding to my previous post...

The new Millennium Edition of "Re-Animator" includes a 1509 kbps full bitrate DTS soundtrack.
