Is RG--6/QS - 75ohm Quad shielded cable from Ratshack good for a sub?

    Just picked up this stuff (50ft) and just wanted to make sure its ok. I'm using it with F/RCA adapters.

    CAN'T REMEMBER WHY, BUT MY INSTALLERS(WHO INSIST ON RG6 FOR SAT. INSTALL) TELL ME TO SPEC RG59 FOR CUSTOM SUB RUNS...ANYBODY?

    For a sub (or any audio) signal, RG-59 and RG-6 will both be functionally the same.

    59 is 22awg and the 6 is 18 awg. 59 is more flexible everything else being equal. You've got the 6...have a good time [​IMG] and don't sweat the difference.

    c'mon somebody .....there is supposedly a good reason to use 59 over 6, I'll find out in acoupla days,....who nows now?

    Matthew,
    The RG6 is used for satellite because RG59 cannot handle the bandwidth requirements of satellite. As far as 59 over 6 for a subwoofer, the only reason I can think of that it would be "better" is for the above stated reason of it being more flexible. From a technical standpoint, saying 59 is better than 6 for audio cables just doesn't make sense to me.
