I got a message that my Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta will expire in 15 days. When I searched Microsoft downloads, it appears that Windows Defender Beta 2 is the replacement for AntiSpyware.

    Can anyone confirm this please?

    Thanks

    Yes, Reginald

    Couple of things.

    1) Defender uninstalled AntiSpyware Beta (which had an icon in the tray at the bottom).

    2) The "castle wall" icon for Defender does not appear in my "tray".

    3) To manually get a scan, I have to open the program and there is a "button" to perform a scan. Once I installed Defender, the program made me perform a full scan.

As far as I can tell the program is running in the background, however, without the icon, I can't be 100% sure.
