DVD Review says this is not enhanced for 16x9, and the package certainly doesn't mention it. However, DVD File says that it is indeed enhanced, in spite of the labeling. Has anyone here had a chance to screen this and determine how it is encoded?
    Thanks for your help.

The Cinema Laser, Mondo Digital, DVD Verdict, DVD Authority, DVD Drive-In, HorrorDVDs.com, and DVD File all claim that the disc is 16x9-enhanced. Digitally Obsessed and DVD Review are the only sites of those I checked that list the disc as being non-anamorphic.

I have it, and yes it's enhanced for 16:9.

Thanks for the quick confirmation. I guess eight to two makes a good case! Certain review sites may need to check the settings on their players.

I reviewed Hell House for Digitally Obsessed. Indeed, I made a boo-boo, which is odd since I make a very good habit of testing all discs (labelled or not) for anamorphic enhancement by setting my player incorrectly (for a 16:9 display). Indeed, Hell House IS anamorphic. My mistake. 30 lashes with a wet noodle. [IMG]

You know everyone is entitled to their opinion and I would never take that away from anyone....but DAMN it pissed me off how much DVD File shat all over one of my favorite haunted house movies The Legend Of Hell House [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Well I'm kidding of course but it did surprise me just how much the reviewer really didn't like it.
..oh well, I'm buying it. Thanks FOX.

Thanks Dan. Consider yourself noodled [IMG]
At least I've now got that site bookmarked for future reference, as I was previously unaware of it.
Actually, the studios would do us a big favor if they would be more informative on this feature.
