Is it worth spending $250 more for the 20-39 PCi instead of the 25-32 PCi? (1 Viewer)

My room size is 12' x 12' x 9' (W x D x H). I will use it for watching movies only and I like to feel the bass. The incremental cost to go from the 25-31 PCi to the 20-39 PCi is $250. Will the 25-31 PCi go below 25 Hz in a small room? Can someone who has experience with both models help me decide? The $250 difference is from import tax. If both models sound about the same, I would just get the 25-31 PCi.

Many Thanks.

Are you sure you have the models correct?

The price difference looks like PCi vs the PC+.

Also, take a serious look at the PB10. There is a great post by Ed. If you have read any of his reviews you know he doesn't mess around.

The PB10 is preordering at $399. At that price you can pick up a couple:D

Maybe get the 25 and have it tuned at 22? I would say the $250 difference is definitely not worth it. Why is the cost so much anyway? Size differences?

Here, here. I agree with the 25-31 tuned to 22 Hz.

Unless you get a better import duty and tax rate for housing material. In that case, ask them to glue some piping and a valve on a 20-40 before shipping, and tell the authorities it's a water heater. :D

enjoy!

Really if the price difference has anything to do with the size of the box, maybe the Box Style PB1 is the best bet for a SVS sub.

If your gonna have to spend that much more for the 20-39 PCi you might as well get the PC+ 25-31 so the price difference is in the sub not the size of the box it comes in.

Yeah, that would probably be even better. If you don't mind spending the extra $250 I would go with the PC+ if it didn't cost you more in import tax.

The difference is not just the box size but also the value. Here is the cost difference.
Model Add$
20PCi 241
16PCi 314
25PC+ 456
20PC+ 547
16PC+ 639
PC-Ultra 1032.
The water heater is a good idea.

Many Thanks

That's really annoying how that works out. It doesn't make sense that you have to pay that much difference between two sizes of the same model. I agree, go the water heater route :)
