I am using Tripp Lite ISOBAR6ULTRA for my home theater equipment (Denon 3802 receiver, Sony 36HT510 TV, Sony SACD player).

Is it worth upgrading it to Monster power bar 1100.

Correct me if I am wrong. I think Monster has better quality to filter out electrical noises (RF/EMI). Anyone can give me more suggestions??

    Thanks

Forget the $200 Monster and its "designed by Richard Marsh" advertising copy. The TrippLite Ultra is fully equal to the MP 1100, and may be superior in its isolated plug outlets and RF/EMI noise suppression. There are limits here: Technology in these small boxes can carry noise suppression level only so far. The next big step is a balanced power transfomer.

If you're a homeowner and concerned about future SURGE damage, particularly from external lightning field/strikes, it may be better to consider a service entrance or whole-house surge suppressor for less than $175 incl electrician's installation.

    See several models HERE

Makes sense to me. You know, I think people who design these things for a living wonder what's so special about Richard Marsh. I mean if he were honest, he'd champion whole house protection as the first, best, and most cost effective approach.
