Hi,

I was wondering if playing games on a RPTV, let's say a Toshiba 50x81, is good on it. I was told years ago that is was bad on the tv. So is this a myth or is this a valid statement. Thanks Ron

It's pretty much true. You should be careful playing video games on just about any monitor and especially RPTV's. If all the action on the screen is constantly moving then the harm done is probably minimal. The problem with many video games is that they often have areas at the top, bottom, or sides that reflect speed, life, score, etc. These areas that don't move can "burn" into your projectors creating ghost images and other problems. With that being said, you are probably okay if you limit your game playing, particularly with those games that have static displays and make sure that you don't leave games paused or otherwise on when you aren't actively playing them.
