They put out 24 episodes, usually about 6 months apart with the releases. There hasn't been anything in quite a while so I'm wondering if they've given up on this or not. When I spoke to them a couple of years ago they told me they had licensed about 56 of the 99 hours. Just wondering if more are on the way or not.

I hope that this is not the end of the series. They have released DVD's of Naked City during the month of November in the past. But nothing is in their line up so far. I'm still waiting.

I've been wondering myself. The series is a big favorite of mine. I have about 50 episodes on tape, recorded off a Dallas channel nearly fifteen years ago, and have revisited the episodes quite often in the ensuing years. The dvd's have been of stunning quality, and I was thrilled to finally see a few I missed out on. I had a wistful hope that maybe Image might put them out in season-sets, like "Combat." But, just about all my hopes for season-sets seem to be crashing and burning lately. Just today comes word that "Fugitive" isn't even in the pipeline.

Douglas Pratt's "DVD Newsletter" lists under forthcoming Image DVDs "Naked City: Box Set 1" (this would be circa February 2005). I no longer have access to the Image Entertainment website so could anyone find out any info on this? It was/is one terrific series.

I won't get excited yet as what Image did with I Spy was they release the show 4 episodes at a time and then did boxes later. Could be they are doing the same, repackaging the already released 24 shows.

Image released the first pair of Naked City DVDs on 1/14/03, the second pair on 11/18/03, and the third pair on 5/11/04. That's 10 months apart, and then 6 months apart.

My guess is that they have no specific pattern, and are just fitting it in whenever they can. It's certainly not their biggest, hottest item, just a good steady money-maker.

I'm sure that as long as it continues to be profitable, and as long as they have new product to offer, they will continue to release these.
