Is GTA3 ever going to be a "greatest hits" so I can buy it?

I usually wait for good games to come down in price because I just cant bring myself to buy a game for $50 or even $40 for that matter. I have been waiting patiently for GTA3 to become a GH and I thought for sure it would be by now. Do only some of the games become GH even though it has GH status?

Ask yourself this: why would they decrease the price when it is still selling a relative shiteload compared to all the other releases on PS2 at full price? [IMG]

I've seen used copies at EB games for $24. That's not much more than a Greatest Hits price. I'd give them a try if you have one nearby. Either that or check eBay.

    Cheers.
    Jeff.

Jeff, forget GTA3... just get Vice City. If any game is worth full price, this is it.

I've been waiting for the same thing... I can't believe anyone is buying GTA3 when GTA3: Vice City is going for the same price. That being said, GTA3 is going for about $20 on ebay.

See I disagree. I think GTA3 is a better game overall. Sure, Vice City has more places to go and things to do but I just found GTA3 to be more polished. YMMV though.

I highly recommend getting Vice City, I will go as far to say that it is the best game I've ever played. The amount of entertainment I've gotten out of it is more then worth the $50 price tag.

Oh, and if the main character talks in the next GTA, I may go on a little spree of my own.

No way. Do you think Rockstar/Take 2 would bring the price down on this cash cow?

    JamesH,
Don't get me wrong I love Vice City and enjoy the 80's theme but it just wasn't as revolutionary as GTA3 was, nor was it as realistic to me. I think part of that stems from the Northern vs Southern style city(being from the northeast Liberty City felt more real to me). Both games are great but if I could only keep one, it'd be GTA3.

GTA3 was dropped to $39.99 New ($37.99 Used) at EB in Canada. This is only $10 higher than Greatest Hits games and is about the 3rd price drop since Christmas. GH can't be too far behind.... unless if starts to go back up.

I love em both, and I don't think I could have one without the other. I love Liberty for the size of the city, & the atmosphere & the fact that you could collect all the weapons and build up your ammo amounts then go on Rampages. ...but I like vice city for the heli's, bikes, properties, music, and of course Candy [IMG]

I hope GTA4 combines the best of both. and is twice the size of Both.

    Jeff Iam,

I have a GTA3 w/o the manual and I'm willing to part with, if you're interested. I don't play it that often. Let me know, if you interested in trading for it.

    thx,

    bruce

Hmm... Rockstar might not want the game in the Greatest Hits, but they might want to lower the price. $29.99 seems like a compromise that they would make.
