I was planning on buying the Toshiba 27AF41, but have seen some reviews complaining of geometry problems. Similar complaints about the Sony Flat Screen.

If I get Avia, go in and make adjustments which set will end up with the better picture?

    Is flatscreen even worth it?

I need to stay at the 27" size, which should I get, or should I get something else?

By its very curved nature, a conventional picture tube introduces a bowing distortion to all that you see. Not so with a flat screen. Though the electron beam has more of a challenge from within a flat screen, the overall picture makes it worth it. Flat = cinematic.

I have a flat screen and I can honestly say I'll never go back to the traditional curved screen. I say try it out. Usually a department store gives you 2-4 weeks to bring the set back if you aren't satisfied.

Thank you gentlemen. I think I was suffering from pre-buyers remorse. Hopefully I can just get that out of the way up front and enjoy the set when I bring it home.
