I'd say definitely go with the regular version - the Gold Edition is waaay over-priced.

The GE includes 3 discs: the regular CK 2-disc SE which you can get for under $20 and the HBO movie "RKO281" which is available for under $15 if you want it.
Amazon even has a deal if you by both seperate releases, the CK SE and the RKO281 disc, you pay only about $30. The GE is $90 [IMG] and the only extras you get are a senitype, a booklet, and the box itself - paying $60 extra for this stuff is almost insane. You can rather get one of the many books available, discussing CK and still have money left.
The poster that is supposed to be included with the GE is a mail-in offer, so you'll have to pay even more (postage) to get it.

Get the superb "standard" Special Edition and buy some more classics with the money you saved on the Gold Edition. [IMG]

It's funny that the only Oscar winner on that set is the Doc. ABOUT Citizen Kane. Now THAT'S comedy.
