CompUSA is opening a new store in Frisco, TX., and has the Samsung HCL4715W for $799.99. I was unable to find any info on this tv on the Samsung website. Is this a discontinued tv? The tv is new in the box. Is that a good price for that set?

As long as it is new in the box - that is a very good price. I got this set new about a year ago and I'm very pleased with it. You've got to hook up a progressive scan DVD with good component cables - when progressive is turned off, the image quality is pretty bad.

Also - be sure you turn down your contrast and don't watch in 4:3 mode too much. I got burn in because of my stupidity - luckily I got the Best Buy extended warranty and they replaced the CRTs.

    good luck

Yep - I didn't even have to fight them on it either. Other than the long wait and the miscommunication between the repair people and their 800 Customer Service Center - it was pretty painless. They could have weasled out of the Protection Plan - but didn't.
