There are some descriptive subtitles such as when someone coughs you'll gee [coughing}] as a subtitle. But the text is not in black blocks, like closed captioning, it is just white text like regular subs.

One small thing that does bother me - the second the screen cuts to black at the end after all the strobe lights, there is a subtitle credit for the company that did the subtitles.
