It certainly doesn't help that we just saw the same shot in Thunderbolts. How many times have we seen the hero punch down into the front of a car to have it flip over them shot?![]()
Probably as many times as the flying/leaping hero landing back on the ground in a squat with one fist planted. How many times have we seen the hero punch down into the front of a car to have it flip over them shot?![]()
Yeah, they're smart to play up his connection to this, given the popularity of both Black Panther movies and the recent success of Sinners.I know Marvel has been sitting on this one for a while, so glad to see it is getting its day. I'm sure Coogler's recent success with Sinners will be a boost for the show.
Agreed. I remember hearing that it was filmed before Wakanda Forever came out, and that was two and a half years ago. It would have made more sense to put this out while that film was still fresh in the cultural zeitgeist. I hope the long delay isn't a reflection of its quality. That being said, they lost a lot of momentum by sitting on this so long after Wakanda Forever came out.
That's probably because they've barely been marketing it until this week. It seems like it is getting less of a push than usual for a Marvel production. Maybe they'll ramp up as we get closer to the premiere, but I've been looking forward to it and it still feels like there isn't very much buzz going for it right now. The main reason I want to see this is because I liked Riri in Wakanda Forever. But that movie probably isn't top of mind anymore for most people because of the long gap between the two releases.I have been oblivious to this show.
IMO, that’s the greatest failing Marvel has these days. When they take so many years between related projects, they lose all momentum and the audience loses enthusiasm. But that movie probably isn't top of mind anymore for most people because of the long gap between the two releases.
If that's the case, it's a stupid decision. If the strategy will be different in the future, that's fine. But they still shot Ironheart and are going to release it. They should still market it the same as they would their other properties. Dumping it on the service without much promotion makes no sense for anybody involved.Ironheart is a holdover from the old strategy, so the lack of marketing may reflect this.
I'll try to be uncharacteristically optimistic and say that maybe they think that the show takes a couple episodes to get going and that by episode three, the audience will be drawn in enough to keep coming back. That had to be Disney's thinking for releasing the first three episodes of Andor: S1 at one time and then going to weekly for the remainder.Premiering three (out of six) episodes the first night does not inspire confidence.
The only problem with that is there are only six episodes. If it takes half of the season to get going, that wouldn't really be very exciting.I'll try to be uncharacteristically optimistic and say that maybe they think that the show takes a couple episodes to get going and that by episode three, the audience will be drawn in enough to keep coming back.
