I am in need of a way to use my Pronto Pro to send IR commands to my HTPC. Has anyone here done this? Suggestions on IR receiver hardware and software? Hints? Tips?

I use a device called the IRman to receive signals from my Pronto sent to my MP3 jukebox (laptop). Signals from the Pronto go to the IRMan, which in turn activates WinAmp to play MP3s through my HT. It works, more or less. The computer is pretty slow and taxed relatively hard by the various bits of software running on it, but it is an old computer.
Winamp has several plug-ins available to use the IRMan. You can find information about the device at Evation.com.

    Kenny,

Lots of people use the TheaterTek dvd software in combination with a wireless keyboard and mouse. With the Pronto, you can download a CCF file that emulates the keyboard hotkeys for standard dvd playback. The wireless keyboard (airboard) comes with the IR receiver you'll need.

    Hope that helps...
