Let the lawyer games begin!
Pretty sweet looking. THe voice interface sounds sweet. However - no price & no dimensions given. I wonder if this uses the 1.8" HDs or a 2.5" HD. that will make a difference in the form factor.
I'm all for it if it makes Apple drop the price on the iPod!
it doesn't look like it has the wheel. the wheel is the key on the iPod. Whenever someone attempts to copy Apple, they always miss the thing that makes it Apple.
when the first mac was released i wonder if someone posted "Xerox PARC ripoff hits the market soon"
Toshiba released an "iPod killer" last month and it fell to horrible reviews. I'll wait for the final release before giving up on the great iPod.
It probably won't be as elegant in feel and use as the iPod is. The iPod is an amazing little device.
It does look like they've "borrowed" their look iPod, but without the wheel - it won't be as convenient to use.
Biggest thing that irked me about the iPod was the case... it seems to attract fingerprints with a quickness...
Here's another one to add to the mix: The Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen.
That Jukebox Zen looks like what I might end up buying my girlfriend for X-Mas. I was thinking about the iPod for Windows, but this looks good, with better audio.
Why do you say it has "better audio"?
It's larger than iPod but the price is sure nice.
Creative's Nomad products are generally regarded as the number two player in the market (in terms of reviews, not sales), so if you're going to buy any "iPod-clone", the Nomad Zen would be my choice.
camp, in all the reviews that I have read about iPod, the most common gripe that I see is about the audio level/quality. All the reviews that I have read about the creative products similar have stated good audio level/quality.
Yeah the Zen is larger, but not by much, check out these pictures ...
Zen and iPod
Zen and iPod 2
For me, the Zen is what I am more interested in.
Thanks for the side-by-side pics. To me, that's a significant size difference.
By audio "level/quality" I assume you mean more of the level than anything. The iPod is a bit 'loud' in terms of level output but the sound quality is very good. I would guess that's a pretty debatable point though.
Still, I wish the iPod wasn't so damn expensive.
Hey Camp, I just checked out your website. The picture of your dog Tucker with the towel is priceless
Thanks, Phil. Tucker is quite a character.
