iPhone and the Podcasts App (1 Viewer)

I’ve got the X but I doubt it’s a X issue. The lock screen used to show the Music info, like what was playing or the Podcast info. Now I get a small screen that just says Music with a play button. I was listening to a podcast and I hit play and my podcast resumed. I think the same situation has caused music to play, but not sure of that.

Another thing that happened was that I’d finish a podcast and start and another and for several days the finished podcast would show on the lock screen. Even as I played and finished other podcasts. This was before I started getting the Music window.

I’m wondering if my Apple Watch is somehow causing a conflict here. Ideas?

I assume you’re using Apple’s podcast app? I use Overcast and have never seen what you describe when playing podcasts. I’m also still using a 7 Plus.

Yes, it's the apple app and I see it on both music and podcasts.

I also use Overcast as well as constantly using my Apple Watch as the remote for Overcast. No problems. I doubt you have an Apple Watch problem - presumably a bug with Apple's Podcast app and/or iOS.

Both third-party Overcast and Apple Music have the standard lock-screen interface for me on my 8+ running the latest iOS. If that's not what Apple Podcasts is doing, I'd try a reboot first. If not, then maybe it's a bug.

It would appear that Overcast and the apple app libraries aren’t identical. I searched for one that I coudn’t Find on Overcast.

Which podcast? I’ve not encountered that myself. Since Apple is the podcast directory generally, I assumed Overcast used it or duplicated it.

I was wrong, I tried spelling it as “MonsterTalk” instead of the “Monster Talk” I had done earlier and I found it. False alarm.

I forgot to mention that with Overcast, the lock screen is now working correctly.
