Ionic Breeze makes a weird noise (1 Viewer)

A friend of mine recently picked up a Ionic Breeze Plug-In Air Purifer from "The Sharper Image". I first noticed it by the loud high pitch noise it was emitting. I asked my friend how he could stand the noise from this thing and he replied he could not hear anything. He even put his ear right next to the thing! If any of you can hear the noise generated when a television is on, I would say it's similar to that only much louder and a octave or two higher. I hope I am not developing supersonic hearing. Anyone else come across this product?

Ooohhh, I hate that. Like when someone leaves the TV on a black screen and I come into the room and say "Why is the TV on?" and they say "it isn't."

Aaarrrr, it drives me nuts.

By the way, that reminds me of a joke about a pirate and a steering wheel...
