International International shipping from amazon US (1 Viewer)

Hello.
I'm not sure if i can post this here but I wanted to ask something:
it's been very long since I ordered blurays from amazon us.
When I did, i had 3 options for shipping: standard, expedited and amazonglobal.
Now, with whatever bluray I try, it gives me only one option: amazonglobal.

Does anyone know if this is due to COVID-19 or if things have changed permanently and this is the only option to order?
It's extremely expensive!

Probably virus related. Economy shipping has been curtailed going in or out of most countries and only thing available is HIgh Speed dedicated services.

Ordering Uk to US, only Priority is allowed for now.

There are some issues that may affect shipping legal/political down the line, but the Priority Only seems to have a specific cause

I live in the US but had the exact same experience as you when pre-ordering a disc from Amazon UK. I used to choose the cheapest option all the time, but now Global Priority is it. Like David, I suspect this is due to the virus. (What isn't due to the virus these days?) But I ordered it anyway because it's a disc I really want.

Have to be careful importing from US to UK. Last item received from Screen Archives had a Royal Mail £8 charge for handling customs duties (VAT). I usually order now from Importcds, good prices, service, and no hassle!

For Amazon UK it is specifically tied to COVID-19.

When the shutdown started, they eliminated ALL international shipping. As restrictions began to lift, they allowed Priority only. For pre-orders that were in the system from before the shutdown at a lower tier, those went out via Priority.

I suspect that as further restrictions go away, they will allow other choices.

I stopped buying from Amazon UK for now because my last order took a month and a half to arrive plus they raised the shipping prices big time. Plus certain discs on my wish list can not be mailed to the USA.
