internal vs external scaler (1 Viewer)

I'm looking at getting one of the new 1080p sets but I'm trying to figure out if the internal scalers are sufficient or if I should look an an affordable scaler such as those made by DVDO. Short of buying a DVDO (since most stores don't carry them) and sticking it in line, is there any way to tell which would give me better results -- the internal scaler or a DVDO?

Thanks

Carlton

what are you wanting to scale?

Most 1080p sets will not accept a 1080p signal (a short coming of the current HDMI protocols0).

Let us know.
