I want to know if you could turn off the internal line doubler on an HDTV set or any for that matter. The reason I ask is that I plan on buying the Kenwood DV-5900M with the Faroudja doubler in it and am worried that the pristine decoding done by the Sage Chipset will get screwed up by passing through the so commonly substandard line doublers found on todays current HDTV's. Anyone have any knowledge on this topic?

Most TVs will bypass the line doubler when a progressive signal is detected.
