New Jersey orchestra needs to raise $25 million to buy some amazing vintage instruments. I wonder if private individuals can make small donations to help their cause-- the article doesn't say.
Anyone in NJ heard anything about this, or where to make a donation... I would much rather see these end up int the hands of a first chair professional orchestra rather than another non-playing collector.

Sounds like a worthy cause to help spread the joy of music to the masses.

Wouldn't it be cool if the members of the Home Theater Forum who wanted to contribute could pool their monies and make one contribution in the name of the Home Theater Forum.

Interesting, as an aquarist, I've heard of Axelrod's name before, no wonder it was a bit familiar!
As far as the NJ Symphony Orchestra, they do seem to have a website:
http://www.njsymphony.org/
You can perhaps contact them to see if there is a fund started already directly for the instruments...
