Best Buy is sending out a slick 48-page color catalog full of what appears to be unusually smarmy co-op advertising for various products. The product descriptions are so badly written it's almost funny. As a bonus for staying awake and getting to the end of the catalog, you'll find six coupons for: 12% off home audio $299 and up 25% off any Sandisk memory card or reader 10% off any TV $299 and up 10% off all MP3 car decks 10% off any Samsung refrigerator or microwave $5 off any three full-price DVDs Each coupon has the usual exclusions, meaning you can't use them on anything that even remotely represents a bargain. And, as if the exclusions weren't enough to persuade you not to waste your time, Best Buy goes the extra mile by making the coupons valid only on various dates (one per week, of course) from 5/11 through 6/21. God forbid that a customer should use more than one of these golden ducats at a time. Feh.
