I watched an interesting video on a semi blind teste using 5 different speakers from different manufacturers, that were all priced differently.
Semi blind meant the guy didn't hide the speakers, but the test subjects new very little about speakers.
Anyway, he waa interested in which speakers did well in the test.
Sadly, the entire test was cooked. He was listening to one speaker in particular that sounded worse that on his own home system.
Turns out he used different AV recievers for the various setups, and forgot to take into account that different AV recievers would process sound differently... with more expensive AV revievers making some cheaper speakers sound similar or better than expensive speakers on a sub-par av receiver.
Speakers ranged in price from $500 to $2200.
