Yamaha RX-V493 receiver
10 yr old Samsung DVD player
Center: Infinity Primus
Front: B&W DM 602
Rear: Boston Diapole
Sub: Infinity PS 10
I want to clean my act up but my wife just bought a Mazda RX 8 and threw my dreams of becoming a purist to the wolves. So Im scouring e bay.
Im anchoring everything on the B&W's and Im bidding on a 6 series center channel then Ill make a few payments on the car and maybe pay the gas bill or buy food
The sub I really dont have complaints with. I do use it for music and movies and it does what I want it to.
It works so Im not going to fix it just now.
Im musically receptive to all types of sounds, In that regard I am a purist.
I want to hear everything laid down on the tracks. Every cymbal, tympany, cowbell, guitar lick etc. has to be clear and concise. Im a real nutjob when it comes to quality listening.
So Im looking at mid range $ receivers and thats when the insanity started knocking....pounding.
My Yamaha plays music but I cant help feeling like Im missing something. I dont use the DSP aspect of the receiver. in fact it pisses me off that it even exists, the sounds like rock concert or stadium are ridiculous and never use them.
I want to feel like Im in the recording studio with the musician yet of course I have to be realistic.
