I'm looking at buying a refurbished Infocus X3 - my LP340 is dying (I think - please see my other post).

Is it worth buying - as a non-perfectionist HT viewer? Any others recommended in the sub $1500 category?

You can do much better for $1500 or less. I'll assume you want a DLP projector. I would recommend the new Infocus IN72, the new Benq W100, Infocus 4805, Optoma H31, Optoma H27.

Thanks for the advice, Jim - I heard about the 4805 but couldn't find a comparison of the two.

The X series are basically business projectors; sometimes higher resolutions and brightness, but lacking the signal processing (and often the higher speed color wheels in DLP versions) to make TV and Video look good in the home. (I have an SP4805)
