New to newer stereo systems. Looking for a decent sound system not for a lot of money. A friend of mine won this sytem and offered it to me for $900. Didn't want to spend this much but wondering if it is that good of a deal and a decent system. Here it is for $900:
    Infinity Beta 40
    Infinity Beta C250
    Infinity Beta 10
    Harmon/Kardon AVR 135

Looking for a system for music as well as surround sound for TV, mostly music though. My wife wants those small speakers, but not sure if worth the difference for price and quality for the "deal" above. Help very much appreciated, thanks.

Its not much of a deal. Check the on-line prices at cnet, etc and you can see the prices for each piece.

This is a nice set-up though...

I would offer $700 and see what he says. The speakers are nice, but the receiver is so-so (not that HK isn't nice, but that model is low on the totem pole)
