Mike, are you also using the interlude speakers as well? I personally just believe that Denon is a better match for them than Yamaha. I know that Yamaha has (or at least HAD) a reputation for being "bright" sounding, and based on my own personal experience with mine, I can't dispute that. Although I understand that they've made great strides in improving that area recently. I just believe that Denon is much easier to match speakers up with as far as more possibilities. I feel that Yamaha limits you as to great speaker matches for them. I use M&Ks with mine, and that seems to be a good match for them. But I'd never put them with Klipsch for example. I also have a Denon 3802, but I've never used it, not even once. I wound up going with the HK 8000 instead. I still use the Yamaha in the bedroom because I know I could only get at best a few hundred bucks for it now if I sold it, and as much as I paid for it 5 years ago, I'm keeping it!

Has anyone ever compared the Interlude series with the older Overture line, specifically the IL60 against the Compositions Overture 3? I recall Corey Greenburg commenting in a review of the Preludes in one of the last issues of the late lamented Audio magazine to the effect that the Overtures were "unlistenable". I've had Overture 3s for over 4 years and my ears are still intact.

The IL series offers the newer CMMD drivers and have the hand of Floyd Toole in their design, something the Overture and RS series did not. The Overture 3 is a beautiful speaker and a sophisticated design, but is the IL60 an improvement, or would that take a leap to the Intermezzo line? Any thoughts?
