Hello Everyone,

I have a set of Infinity IL60 floor speakers and was using them to play music. They were never turned to their full capacity and for some reason the subwoofers on them just stopped working. First, it was just one of them, but a little later on both woofers stopped working. The tweeters and whatever else is on top still work and produce sound, but just the subwoofers don't work. The weird thing is that they just stopped working midsong. The light on the front wheel (I believe it's called base control) usually lights up green but now there is no light at all. Does anyone have any experience with this at all that could possibly lend a hand? Any help would be appreciated..

Hi Jay.
"green light" - does this mean you have powered-towers? The speakers have an AC power cord?
Check the power cord and then check the back of the speakers for a fuse-cover. Chances are the fuse is broken. Take it out and go to Radio Shack or a good hardware store for a replacement.

I assume that could definitely be the problem. Any idea on where this fuses location could be? I can't seem to find a latch/door or anything of the sort on the back.

The 4 amp / 250 volt fuse is the round object between teh power switch and the modular power cord input on the back of the speaker.
The discussion in the other forum indicates that the same problem was caused by a blown reistor on one of the circuit boards in each of the speakers. Unless you're comfortable opening up the speakers, pulling circuit boards, breaking off components and soldering new ones on (or know someone who is) there probably isn't anything in that thread that's going to be of any use to you.
Good luck,
Joe

I have a pair of IL-60s. They haven't failed me yet. Have you had a lightning strike or any other power surge at your home recently? I ask because last summer I did. It took out my satellite receiver, garage door opener, subwoofer, and a pair of Infinity Overture 3 speakers. The latter are also powered. Infinity could not help because they no longer stock parts for them. The only speaker repair shop in Indiana (AFAIK) fixed them (so they say), and I will finally get them back today after almost 5 months (210 bucks repair bill for the pair). The IL-60s are really great speakers. Contact Infinity's repair desk online. With luck they will be able to help you. If not find an authorized Infinity repair station in your area. It may mean a long drive twice, but they're worth it.

Hi Greg, do you mind saying what repair place you took your speakers to? I live in Indianapolis and have a set of speakers that seem to have the same problem, but not sure where to get it repaired.
Thanks

Hi, I'm looking for a pair of New Crossover Network Panels for Infinity Interlude IL60 speakers. The panels look exactly like the one in your photo. Do you have, or do you know of anyone, who has 2 of these panels for sale? I lost the bass in both of my speakers and I'm told I need to replace these panels.

I have a pair of infinity il50s that had the same problem. I researched some forums and found that there is a faulty resistor on one of the boards. The resistors cost 2 dollars. A lot cheaper than a new crossover. Here's the link to the page with the factory service manual for the repair.
