Infinite baffle sub placement (1 Viewer)

I'm just starting to look at these type of subs but have some questions. Where should the sub be located in the room? The reason I ask is I have a small storage room adacent to the seating area of the HT. Diamensions of this room are 3' by 10' by 80" tall. The output for the sub would be right beside the seating area 11' from the mains. I have a 10" mission sub and was planning on relocating the 6 bass shakers to the HT couches. Would the addition of 2-12"subs be way overkill for a 12' by 18' by 7' Ht room? I was also wondering about the sound from the back side of the sub, I assume it would be as loud as the bass in the room correct? The only other location I have for the IB sub would be front left side with sub enclosure in the furnace room , but I 'm concerned the bass would eminate through the furnace ducts to every room in the house.

Yes the back wave of an IB sub is just as loud as in room. No it would not be overkill. The best resource for IB questions is The Cult of the Infinitely Baffled.
