Inexpensive speakers for surrounds. (1 Viewer)

I have finished my home theater. I have two Acoustic Research towers that sound good, and need a center, and three surrounds for 6.1. What are best surrounds I can get for the money? I suppose they dont have to be Acoustic Research as I cant seem to find any.

I have a midrange system nothing fancy just something that I can enjoy in a small room. I only need three surrounds and a center but it seems from what I have gathered it would be almost more cost effective to buy a home theater speaker package. Any ideas?

Yamah NS-6490 Bookshelves, Do a search they are like $70 a pair and can even be had for less sometimes. You need 3 pair for the full 6.1 setup.

They have 8" low frequency drivers, so they even do well without a sub.

Keoni, what is your budget? It would be helpful in making recommendations. It might be difficult to match a new center to your AR speakers, though a good timbre match is not so critical for surrounds.

I could be that you might want a new package.
