I'm looking for an inexpensive receiver to use as a pre-pro for my HT system. I'll be building my own amps later so I'm not all that interested in the power output of the amps. What I'm looking for is 7.1 surround, DPL II, DD-EX,DTS-ES and pre-outs for a 7.1 setup. Any recommendations?

After doing some research, I'm leaning towards the Harman Kardon AVR 325. Anybody had experience with this model?

You might check out the Pioneer 45 TX. It has a lot of processing capability for a unit in its price range and the MCACC makes it easy to set-up and tailor to the listening room.

The Denon 3803 is another one to try in addition to the HK you are already considering.

    Good luck,
