Seems likely that the series would feature a younger Indy then. 5-10 years younger than he was in Raiders?

If would be wise to cast him with someone who could potentially take on the role in a new series of period (‘30’s/‘40’s) films sometime down the line. I’m not aware of any plans for anything like that, but 10-15 years from now who knows? If they slowly get audiences used to a new actor this way, it may be easier to accept him in new theatrical films.

Or maybe he won’t be in this. But since Abner was a friend and mentor and he and Indy fell out over Indy’s relationship with Marion it seems almost a given that they’d have to go there at some point.

That would be the reason for buying the franchises. No point in buying studios and franchises to let the popular IP's sit and rot.
