    Hey all,

Just wanted to let ya'll know that there will be a screening of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade this weekend at midnight on Friday and Saturday. It's apparently a great theater with stadium seating and 6 channel Dolby sound. I'm particularly wondering if this is going to be new print or just an older one.

    Here's the info!
    Landmark's Sunshine Cinema
    143 East Houston Street
    New York, NY 10002
    (212) 358-7709

I love seeing my favorite movies on the big screen with a big audience so hopefully some of you can make it.

I "reviewed" the LandMark Sunshine when it opened a year ago. It's become one of my favorite places to see films:

Here's the schedule of their upcoming midnight movies:

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade · Jan 24 & 25
Mel Gibson is Mad Max in The Road Warrior · Jan 31 & Feb 1
"Ni!" Monty Python and the Holy Grail · Feb 7 & 8
    Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket · Feb 14, 15 & 16
Howard Stern is Howard Stern in Private Parts · Feb 21 & 22
Visit Fantasia! The NeverEnding Story · Feb 28 & Mar 1

They had prints of all three Indy movies here in Orlando a few months ago. They were old prints, but were decent none the less (unlike 'Halloween" which had turned too red and was missing about 5 minutes at a reel change). 'Last Crusade' being the youngest had a very good print.

I doubt it's a new print, since Landmark's website indicates that the screening will be in Dolby Surround, not Dolby Digital.

Hmm. I’ll have to check out this theater sometime. Seems like there are a cluster of decent theaters on Houston. You say this has stadium seating, which is a definite perk. I’m not a big fan of city theaters proportioned like train cars.

Too bad I’m in Providence now. I’d love to see an Indy flick on the big screen now that I’m old enough to appreciate more.

[IMG][IMG][IMG] ROFL! The ONLY time I've ever been to the Angelika was to see Amélie; ... and if your description doesn't hit the nail on the head, nothing will! The funny thing was, there were certain times of the movie where the train was rolling by/under the theatre, and, due to the oddly coincidal timing with certain onscreen events, many in the audience (including my friend and myself) thought it was the bass! When we finally realized what it was, we felt really sheepish [IMG]

I saw City of God at Angelika, and I definitely was confused by the train sound at first. Definitely a place I plan on visiting only for limited release films.
