I enjoyed the last movie and look forward to another, hopefully within a year or two.
Ford will be 70 in 2012, which seems the earliest that a new movie could come out. Speilberg is working on Tintin and Lincoln, while Lucas is busy with the Red Tails movie and at least two (maybe three) Star Wars TV projects.

They already did this, and did it well. It's called The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (called the Adventures of Young Indiana Jones on DVD).

I just re-watched Indy 4 last night, and thoroughly enjoyed it -- sign me up for another one, I'm there.

But I had zero issue with Ford in KOTCS...I thought he did a pretty good job with the character. 90% of my issues were with the script, the other 10% with the direction.

I almost noted that a reboot that would take place after that.

In any case, I care less about that than seeing just a little more from Ford done well. I don't care about his age because a very good story can be done that makes sense for his age.

It's all in the story and execution.

I actually missed Indy 4 when it was in theaters but I watched it the other day. The first three will always have my heart (although I'm not the biggest fan of Kate Capshaw's rendition of "Anything Goes" in Temple of Doom). That being said, even on a small screen, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was really fun and definitely entertaining. I'm definitely on board for a 5th. And in the meantime...I'll entertain myself with occasionally grabbing an Indiana Jones comic book.

Not at all, the effects in Raiders are dated, yes, but cartoon'ish, no way, nor were the effects in #3, but this #4 looks like Pixar was behind the effects, not ILM.

I found the effects in 3 at the end (Donovan dying, temple collapsing) very cartoonish in the sense of being primitive and not realistic.

Great news. I talked about this on the air yesterday using the source Ain't it Cool news. I felt they were good enough. ;)

The only reason I wouldn't be up for another Indy is because it might delay Interstellar. That's the one I want most. I watched the low budget sci-fi 2001-ish Sunshine last night and feel Spielberg and company can do something similar on a much larger scale and without resorting to slasher tactics (like Sunshine and Event Horizon do).

But, for me, Indy 4 was a hell of a great time. Let the whiners whine! :P I enjoyed all the effects. They were exciting and well done. Of course I don't sit there and nitpik every pixel....a great FX heavy movie watching method I recommend. ;) And as for the "nuking of the fridge" I laughed and I think that's why that scene was in there. Success!!!

I enjoyed the opening sequences through them getting out of the plane. I just wished that they landed into a better story. It has its moments though.

I haven't seen the last one since seeing it in the theater and again liked some early stuff but it lost me as the movie progressed.

Has anyone watched it again who did not like it the first time and found it more enjoyable a second time? I feel like now that it's been a year I should try it again on dvd.

Loved Indy4 so I'm there for more!!

It will still be Ford as Lucas said last summer only Ford can play Indy in the movies. Guess they have until 2012 to get this in cinema's otherwise Ford will just retire the part.

I didn't dislike it the first time I saw it, but I definitely felt like something was "off" with it. I saw it a second time in theaters a few weeks later, and I wasn't really that excited about going, I was with a group of people as I recall. I was quite surprised when I enjoyed it about a million times more the second time around.

I think what it was for me was, the first three films I already knew like the back of my hand. I watch them enjoying not only the overall plot and story but the individual moments, which stand out better when you're not watching simply waiting to discover what happens next. Once I saw Indy 4 and knew what it was about and what was going to happen, it freed me in a sense from having to follow the plot and buy everything, and just allowed me to enjoy the movie for what it was, which is a damn good thrill ride. Harrison Ford has so many great moments in that movie, as does Karen Allen, it's just so much fun for me to watch now.

If I would have one plea for those writing the story, it would be to make it mostly about INDY. Give him at most ONE sidekick, not 4-5. I'm guessing Mutt will feature prominently, so they should leave Marion, Sallah, Oxley, et al, out of it or only have them feature in a very minor way.

I'm all for more IJ. The only thing that kind of blows is now we'll probably have to wait until 2012 for the ROTLA, TOD and LC to be released on Blu-Ray

Yes, more IJ, with Karen Allen back but with fewer sidekicks, would be great. Where can they go with the next movie? They´ve done 30s serials and 50s sci-fi, and they seem to want to acknowledge Ford´s age. How about doing a takeoff on early Bond films, with Indy battling femmes fatales and trading quips in casinos, not necessarily in Monte Carlo, but maybe in pre-revolutionary Havanna (Cold War angle). The villain could use some ruins as cover for his secret base, to get the archaeology & artefacts angle into the movie.

The teaser opening could be a Hitchcockian/THIRD MAN chase thru Vienna in 1949 with IJ in an espionage situation. Alternatively IJ would be disguised as a Nazi and chased thru a V-2 rocket factory in Europe. Then they could use that unused bit from the KOTCS screenplay with IJ dodging rocket exhaust fire.

Around the time of the release of last year's movie, a good number of people commented how cool it would be to see some of Indy's WWII adventures.

I would be up for a horror angle on IJ...something similar to the opening scene in the Indiana Jones and the Monkey King script. I know they sort of took this direction in Temple of Doom, but they could be much more explicit with it.

I also think King Solomon's mines or Atlantis would work as macguffins as well.

I really like seeing that a good number of people here have come to really enjoy Indy 4 over the past year.

I haven't watched the movie this summer yet (I wanted to watch it on May 22, but that didn't happen), but I have the Blu-ray and last watched it whenever it was released to video (October?).

I had a good time with Indy 4, despite some reservations. It's fast-paced and has a tremendous sense of fun to it. I wish Spielberg had realized that Indy needed to be more "front and center" during the last fourty minutes (it even cuts away during his fistfight with the big Russian bruiser) and if they do another movie, it's an easy fix.

I'd love to see another one.

I actually kinda like the film right up until they meet Marion. Then it gets way too busy and the chemistry between the two just isn't that great.

The script is also a bit of a mess and could have used another couple of streamlining rewrites. Oxley and Mac could be dropped from the film entirely and they wouldn't be missed (in fact, Oxley just confuses the plot).
