In-Wall speakers??? (1 Viewer)

Hello,
I am about to do my home theater system. Thanks to this forum I have decided against the Bose systems. I have looked at the Axiom surrounds and the SVS Sub. I believe I want to go with in-wall speakers in the rear due to the decor of the living room. Does anyone have any suggestions what would be the best brand to go with? I will be using the Denon for my receiver. I still like the SVS sub and the Axiom towers for front end. I have heard good things from the brands like proficient, Atlantic technology, and speaker works. Can someone help me on this decision? Will the home theater realism be greatly effected by using in-walls instead of surface mount speakers? The rear channel will be firing directly behind me and I will be sitting approx. 18ft from the TV. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have Proficient speakers in ceilings in my house, I've been very happy with them. I have no other experience though.

What are you looking to spend on the in-wall surround speakers?

I'm going to be installing several Elan in-walls throughout the house for whole house audio. They seem to be a good speaker and a good price point.

There are a bunch of others out there including B&W, Paradigm, Definitive Technology, Triad, etc.

Try the Polk, easy to install and they sound great.
I have two pairs: RC-65i (surroud) and RC-85i (back surround)

I really liked some of the Triad offerings. They just sounded the best to my ears but they are not priced at the entry level.
