Guys, I am about to run wire for my rear speakers, but I must go in the wall and thru the attic. Is it really necessary to use CL2 or 3 rated wire for in wall runs, or will standard speaker wire be acceptable? I want to run some of the parts express 10ga OFC wire is at all possible.
Thanks :)

You should use cable rated for in-wall use. If there were ever a fire (God forbid), your insurance might not cover the damage if it was discovered that you used regular cable.

Trust me, it will be easier to run too. You might also want to consider running PVC conduit to run the wires through, it makes it a lot easier for future wire changes/additions.

Thanks for the feedback. I will stick with 14/4 AR Pro speaker wire for the rear speakers.
