Hello,

I want get the current DVD of "In the Mouth of Madness", but the DVD was released in 2000, image non-anamorphic, with only a commentary for bonus features...

With the recent or incoming re-edition of "Halloween", "Escape from New York", "Christine" and "The Thing" from John Carpenter, do you think they plan to revisit "In the Mouth of Madness" soon with a new transfert and some new special features?

Amazon lists the current disc as being anamorphic...

Although it's one of my favorite Carpenter movies, I've never experienced the DVD so I'm not sure how the transfer stands but if in fact the film is presented anamorphic with a decent transfer, commentary track and theatrical trailers, I see no push for a reissue from New Line anytime soon, though I would all over it!

Halloween has been milked to death by Anchor Bay, and Christine is a Columbia title I believe. Escape from New York was done by MGM so Special Editions weren't unexpected. I would love to see this released under their Platinum Series or Infinifilm banners, but it's not a widely popular title and New Line isn't commonly known for their reissues.

Does anyone know if they're still releasing snappers btw?

Well, since I just purchased it (as a matter of fact, I am still waiting for it to ship), so I would not be to surprised to see a new Special Edition announced any day now!
