my floor speakers are not magnetically shielded....how far away is the norm of keeping such speakers from the tv....?

Some people say 2 ft. but I personally aim for a minimum of 3 ft.

Until you can see a visible distortion or smearing of the color pattern on a tube TV or a problem of alignment with a cross hatch test pattern on a RPTV, don't worry about it.
