Ever since I saw the "El Capitan" photo by Ansel Adams years ago I have been in love/fascinated with his work. So now I'm in search of some of his photos in frames. I've found some on Overstock.com which all look beautiful and are offered with $1 shipping(for any item). These framed prints are between $139.99 and ~$180.00. They seem to be a good buy, but I'm a bargain shopper, always looking to save $$$$$!! Is there any other reputable online site to buy what I'm looking for at a better price? I've never purchased art/posters on the net, so I'm at a loss as to where to look. Suggestions?

    Thank you!

go look at the print sizes and find some frames they will fit, looking for your own frames will be a lot cheaper than buying them framed already....

Alot of times you can find the posters at art stores. Can run 10-50 bucks. Depending on your style and decor, you can get those poster frames pretty cheap if your expectations arnt too high.

    Jeffrey,

It kind of depends on what your looking for. If your looking for actual photographs , lithographs, serigraphs etc they will be more expensive. A cheaper alternative are just posters of the actual photo.

Here is a link to a site that has posters of a bunch of Ansel Adams photos.

Lastly, in Monterey, there is a gallery that has signed (by Ansel Adams) photos of his photography. But if you thought 100.00 to 200.00$ was expensive, try in the 1000s$ plus range. The benefit is you with the more expensive stuff, you don't get oversized print below the photograph.

Here is the link for that place in Monterey

and here is the part of that website that has the really expensive stuff

and the poster section of the Ansel Adams gallery..

I hope this helps Jeffrey, Rick

If you have a Gordmans near you, check them out. Last time I was there they were selling some Adams posters (not real prints, mind you), about 20"x30", in very sturdy frames with real glass - for $19.99. What a deal.

Oh hey, I just noticed you're in Manhattan - if nothing else, there's a store in Topeka.
