Impedance setting (1 Viewer)

I have a speaker impedance setting on my Denon Avr s960h . Can I parallel two 8ohm speakers going to 1 channel and set Avr to 4 ohm and be safe? Thx.

Should be fine. These days AVRs have built-in protection circuitry. If it’s not happy, it’ll shut down.

Does it change the output?

Theoretically, the wattage should be as much as 80% higher. Which will be divided between the two speakers.
