Does anyone know if the IMAX DVD releases have better quality than regular movie DVDs? If not, would anyone direct me to as to where I may purchase DVDs about space, ocean and nature of higher quality.

    Thanks in advance

Well... I can't say for sure.. but I would think since they are transferring the image from a film that is 3 times larger than a standard film frame.. I would guess you're going to see a slightly better picture since there is more film grain per video frame.

But, if you want the best picture quality on DVDs about space and oceans... pick up Star Wars: Episode II and Finding Nemo. Hahah.. just kidding.

I have about 70 of these titles. The Warner Brothers titles seem to be consistantly the best.

There is one exception I found. "Amazing Journeys" on Slingshot seems to be the sharpest title.

"The Living Sea" is a good ocean title.

"Galapogos";"Survival Island" and "Beavers" are good nature titles.

"Blue Planet";"Dream Is Alive" for spece.
