Hey gang,

At the tender age of 24, I'm finally set to make a trek outside of the ole USA and I'm heading to Australia on business for a month. I will be staying in the heart of Sydney, and I should have plenty of downtime in the evenings and weekends to see what there is to see.

All of that being said, I'm curious where I need to go! One thing I love to do is shop for music, I am quite a music collector...I am very much into UK indie/rock music for the most part. Where are the good record stores in Sydney? Do they have good record fairs on the weekends like I hear about in the UK?

Also, from what I can tell the exchange rate from aussie dollars to US dollars works out very well for us Americans. I am looking to buy a DV camcorder in the very near future...would I get a better deal over there due to the exchange rate and how much closer they are to Asia where all those DV cams are made?

And just in general, I'm very curious on where else I need to go and do!

Jason, forget electronics purchases. From what I've seen the stuff is MORE expensive in Oz, and forget them in Japan or the rest of Asia, it's MORE expensive than here

Well, that answers that question, thanks Jeff! Now the rest of you! I know there are some Aussies on this board, where are the hot spots in Sydney?
