Frank,

I'll be the first to confess that I have slight problems on both
my Mac Pro desktop and Macbook Pro notebook after Leopard
upgrade.

On the desktop, while doing a synch on my iPod, the iPod icon
disappears in the middle of a transfer (though the iTunes to iPod
transfer is still active and working). My data also gets erased on
my iPod when I take it out of the dock because there is no desktop
icon to eject prior to removal.

On my notebook, if I put it to SLEEP, it always crashes (blue screen)
soon after waking it up.

These are more "annoyances" than major problems as everything
else on my computer is working. Still, I'd like to have these items
fixed.

I have enough faith in Apple that they will have a fix very soon.
They seem to be a lot more dedicated to getting things done than
Microsoft ever was.

Ron, I just had a brainstorm about your iPod issue -- not a fix, but a temporary workaround so you can at least use the thing.

Plug 'er in and go to the first iPod screen in iTunes, the one with the picture of the unit on it. Uncheck "enable disk mode". Now when a sync is completed it's safe to unplug the iPod -- it ejects itself, essentially, when the sync is done.

And if that doesn't work, it'll be a good troubleshooting indicator.

We just got a new computer here in the office, the first with Vista, and the person installing all the programs on it kept asking me "It keeps giving me warning messages when I go to install something. What should I do?"

Then, I thought of the Mac vs PC ads. Now I got the joke.

Aaron,

Thanks for the tip on iTunes and my iPod.

I'll give that a try tomorrow.
