I've had a Canon Powershot A40 for about three years now. It has minimal manual controls (shutter, aperture, white balance, etc.) and I've enjoyed playing with them. That said, I'd love to get a better camera and learn more about photography in general, how to better utilize my tools (camera, mainly) and the ins and outs of post processing (Photoshop, etc). I'll be heading to the city this weekend and would like to pickup a book regarding digital photography and would like it to touch on everything (and more) that I've mentioned. Can anyone recommend a good piece of reading material? I'd like to stay away from a magazine subscription. I have enough of those. Thanks in advance. Just a side note, I've been reading about the Canon 300D (Digital Rebel) off and on for the past ~7 months. That is the camera I'm leaning towards, as I like both the SLR features and the pricetag. Being a novice, it only makes sense... as I see it.
